Trauma
Trauma is an emotional response to an event or events an individual finds threatening or harmful. Types of trauma are categorized as acute, chronic or complex. Acute trauma results from a single incident, chronic from being exposed to repeated or prolonged trauma and complex from exposure to multiple traumatic events. Traumatic events include sexual assault, physical assault, witnessing trauma, sudden death of loved one or hospitalization or natural disasters. There are many options for treatment. Cheryl Fehr-Banks is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy used to process traumatic memories and heal from the trauma. Ask us how we can help you!
